RUNWAY |
I wrote this tutorial on the 6 April 2008 Supplies Needed: I used PSP 9 for this tutorial My Supplies: Here Lets Begin! Open the mask in PSP, add the brush to your brush folder and open the runway in Animation shop. Open a new canvas 550x550 flood fill white. Take your preset shape circle, have your foreground colour set to a color from your tube and background set to nil. Don't worry about width yet, we will do that in a minute. Ok so draw a circle on your canvas, once done just click on the A on the side bar and then click back onto the preset shape. Now noticeat the top that the shape bar has become useable. You need to change your settings to match mine or the runway will not fit. Rename this layer circle but do not convert to rastor yet.
Duplicate the circle layer and on the original, click the + sign and then double click on the new eclipse and up will pop the box shown below, change your settings to match, or use your own settings. Rename this layer Bottom circle and convert to rastor.
So now we should have 4 layers, Background, bottom circle, circle, dash circle. All should now be rastor layers. Click on the background layer and add a new rastor layer, take your flood fill tool and with the same colour you used for your original circle. Go to Layers>New Mask Layer>From Image and find the mask you are going to use. Use the settings shown below. Then right click on the layer pallete merge group and then rename the layer, Mask.
Choose a lighter colour from the tube and click on the layer named circle, take your magic wand and with the following settings click inside the circle.
Click on the background layer again and add another new rastor layer, floodfill with the same colour you used for the Mask and add the same mask that you used before, merge the group and rename Mask2, move this layer so it is below the penta layer. Still on the Mask2 go to Image>Resize 110% Smart Size all Layer unchecked. Then to add the effects go Effects>Texture Effects>Mosaic Glass with your settings or mine shown below.
We should now have 7 layers, Background, Mask2, Penta, Mask, bottom circle, circle, dash circle. Go over into Ani shop and click on the first frame of the runway, copy this layer and paste into your tag. It wants to be moved so it is above Mask and below bottom circle. Take your point to point tool and using the following settings follow the line of the runway, to join the l
Set your foreground colour to white and background to nil. Take your pen tool and using the same settings shown below draw a white line down the center of the runway. Convert this layer to rastor and rename it Runwayline.
Grab your text tool and add your name. I used the font A&S Shokcard and stretched to size, stroke 0, dark color from tag. I duplicated the font, then convert the original to rastor and on the duplicatd one, click the + sign, double click the name that appeared and change the settings to no fill, foreground white and storke size 2, so you will have an outline of your name. Click ok and convert this layer to rastor. This layer wants to be above the other name layer. I did this as I wanted to add a bevel to my name without giving the stroke a bevel and this is the easiest way to do it! If you dont want to add the bevel then you dont need to add the stroke this way. Ok so I wanted to add a bevel and I did so to the dark name using these settings. Merge down the outline of your name to the beveled name and add a dropshadow.
Click on the top layer of your tag and add a new rastor, rename this brushes, click on the brush button and find the brush called SFD_airplane which you should have added to your brush folder and place a few planes where desired. Add your tube of choice to the tag and your watermark and you are done. You can either 1.Save as a jpg/png or 2. You can follow below to animate your tag. Animating First delete the layer you added to the tag from ani shop, the runway lights. Then you need to hide the following layers. Edit>Copy Merged and then paste into animation shop, press and hold ctrl and press L six times. This will give us 7 frames. Click on the first frame and again hold ctrl and press A. This selects all 7 frames and your first frame should be Red. On the runway I supplied, click on the first frame and as above, hold ctrl and press A. Then take your mouse over the first frame of the runwaylights and left click, hold and drag the frame over onto the first frame of your tag, line it up over the runway like you had it in PSP and once you have it were you like let go. Now all the frames of your tag should have a runway on it. To check run animation, if it runs smooth superb, if not undo, undo the runwaylights and follow the steps again. Back into PSP unhide the 4 layers and hide the rest of the tag. Edit>Copy Merged and then paste into animation shop, press and hold ctrl and press L six times. This will give us 7 frames. Click on the first frame and again hold ctrl and press A. This selects all 7 frames and your first frame should be Red. Like we did with the runway lights, click, hold and drag the frame of the 2nd part of the tag onto the first frame of the first part of the tag, once its where you like let go. Run the animation to make sure that all the frames are running smooth. Which hopefully they are. Make sure all frames are selected again and right click, Frame Properties>50 to slow the lights down. When you are happy save as a gif. Thank you for trying my tut!! |
